Privacy Policy

1. What We Store

When a message is quoted, we save the generated quote image. The image contains the quote text, the author's username, and their avatar as rendered at the time of creation.

We also store your font and layout preferences if you set them via /setfont or /setlayout, and your opt-out status (your Discord user ID only) if you use /optout.

That is the full extent of what we store. We do not maintain message logs, chat history, or any data beyond what is described above.

2. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with third parties.
• We do not read, log, or store messages unless someone actively uses the Quote action on them.
• We do not track your activity outside of explicit bot interactions.
• We do not collect your email address, IP address, or any information not listed in this policy.

3. Discord Permissions

LemmeQuoteThat requests the following Discord permissions to operate:

• View Channels — to see the channels the bot is used in.
• Read Message History — to retrieve the message being quoted.
• Send Messages — to post the generated quote image in the channel.
• Attach Files — to deliver the image file.
• Bypass Slowmode — to ensure the bot can always respond promptly, regardless of channel slowmode settings.

The invite link may show an Administrator permission prompt depending on how Discord handles the OAuth flow. The bot does not require or use Administrator-level access to function. You can safely restrict its role to only the permissions above after inviting it.

4. Discord Login (Website)

If you log in via Discord on this website, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar from Discord's OAuth2 API. This data is used solely to display your preferences and privacy settings on the dashboard. We do not store your email address or any data beyond what is listed in Section 1.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Opt out of being quoted
  Use /optout at any time. Server-specific or globally.
• Re-enable quoting
  Use /optin whenever you're ready.
• Request data deletion
  Reach out to lunavoid.dev on Discord and we'll remove your stored data, including any saved quote images featuring you.

6. Data Retention

Quote images and preferences are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. If you opt out globally, new quotes of your messages cannot be created, but previously saved quotes remain unless you explicitly request removal. Opt-out records are kept only as long as necessary to honour your preference.

7. Security & Infrastructure

LemmeQuoteThat is hosted on a cloud server with industry-standard security practices. All web traffic is routed through Cloudflare, which provides TLS encryption in transit, DDoS protection, and hides the origin server from direct exposure.

In the interest of transparency:

• Data is not encrypted at rest beyond what the host provides at the infrastructure level.
• There is no formal automated backup system. Data loss due to infrastructure failure is possible.
• There is no formal breach notification process. In the event of a breach, affected users will be informed on a best-effort basis via Discord.
• Server-level access logs may exist as a byproduct of standard hosting — these are not reviewed unless required for debugging or security purposes.

Given the nature of the data stored (quote images and Discord user IDs), the risk surface is low. No financial, contact, or sensitive personal data is ever held.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the bot after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
